Children’s National Medical Center recently named David Sparks VP of Finance. Congratulations, Dave.

Drop the “Interim” - Congratulations to Trent Crable. He was named CEO & Managing Director of George Washington University Hospital on January 12. He served as the hospital’s COO since May 2005 and Interim CEO since June 2008.

Congratulations to Frank DeLisi recently named CEO at United Medical Center. Welcome, Frank.

Congratulations to Dan Macksood recently named Senior VP and CFO of the Washington Hospital Center.

The top fundraising team in the National Capital Area, Brooke Grove Retirement Village’s “Memory Walk”, a fundraiser to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association earned them “Top Fundraising Team” honors. Congratulations, BGF President Keith Gibb and your fine staff.

Holy Cross Hospital - New Bed Expansion—Based on SmithGroups’ success of the major renovation and expansion project completed in 2005, SmithGroup was recently selected to design a new six-story bed tower expansion to Holy Cross Hospital’s Silver Spring campus. The project will increase the bed count by approximately 200 and expand the hospital’s surgery, imaging and emergency department, as well as add a four-level parking structure to the campus. The Council is proud to have the SmithGroup as an Associate.

Sibley Memorial Hospital - New Patient Pavilion and Emergency Department—SmithGroup in association with Wilmot/Sanz was recently selected to plan and design the new Patient Pavilion and Emergency Department. The new facility will include 328 private, family centered patient care center rooms, labor/delivery; recovery, c-section and post-partum rooms to accommodate 5,000 annual deliveries; 23-bed voluntary psychiatric unit; new garden area for the Radiation Oncology program and support spaces including offices, waiting rooms, lobby, registration and a pre-admission testing facilty.
