Consumer Advocates Offer Free Membership!

The Council’s Patient Representatives (old name) held a regional meeting on February 29th at the Virginia Hospital Center. The new chapter name is Potomac Chesapeake Chapter, which better represents metropolitan D.C., Baltimore, Southern DE & Maryland. They are offering a complimentary membership for the remainder of the 2008 year, anyone interested in joining can e-mail Robin.Massey@peninsula.org for information.

The regional conference is scheduled for September 26th and is being held at the Pathways Treatment Center of Anne Arundel Medical Center. The keynote will be given by National Speaker, Kevin Kasnick, Manager of Customer Service, VA Northern California Health Care System. On the National level, the Society for Healthcare Consumer Advocacy (SHCA) held their annual conference April 8 – 11th in St. Louis, MO. It was a conference packed with great speakers, break out sessions and vendor presentations and a wonderful opportunity to network with over 300 professionals from around the country!
