Health Forum and AHA Leadership Summit 2009

This year’s leadership summit is being held at the San Francisco Marriott, July 23-25. Expecting over 1200 senior healthcare leaders and practitioners, the conference has focused on quality, safety, performance improvement and on the leader’s role and responsibilities in hospitals and health systems. Conference of Metropolitan Hospital Associations (CMHA) Meets

The CMHA’s Washington, DC meeting coincided with this year’s annual AHA meeting. The group discussed healthcare reform, nurse education, the new administration and governance practices and policies. The annual report for 2008 was distributed.

This group represents the metropolitan hospitals/allieds at the AHA. Council President & CEO Joe Burns is a past chairman and current serves as Treasurer.

The Healthcare Council joins forces with the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease (PFCD). PFCD is a bi-partisan coalition of patients, providers, community organizations, business and labor groups and health policy experts committed to raising awareness of the policies and practices that save lives and reduce health costs through effective prevention and management of chronic disease. The Maryland chapter was launched April 14. Former Surgeon General Richard Carmona, M.D., MPH, FACS, National Chairperson, presided.
