National Capital Area Shared Services

Announcement:

Shared Services Offers Energy Management and Natural Gas with National Leader

Shared Services is serious about reducing your costs.

The Maryland/Virginia/Washington, DC Group Purchasing Program

Managed care, DRGs, the Balanced Budget Act, Medicaid and Medicare, HIPAA-its a painful time for healthcare providers as they adapt to capped reimbursement and some painful cost-cutting.

Recognizing the need of its members to contain costs, the Healthcare Council in 1972 began a program of soliciting competitive bids to achieve lower pricing and preferred items from vendors. A single contract with just a handful of participants evolved into the National Capital Area Shared Services, incorporated in 1983 as a subsidiary of the Council.

What goods and services are available through the program?
  • Pharmaceuticals…a full formulary program with choice of wholesalers
  • Energy…fuel oil, #2, 4 6 and low sulphur diesel, natural gas and electricity
  • Lab Program…full line of supplies and equipment
  • Medical/Surgical Supplies...from admission kits to x-ray film, including specialty bariatric products

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Shared Services Offers Energy Management and Natural Gas with National Leader

Have you got the right deal?  Uncertain?  Confused?  Suspect your current supplier isn’t always truthful?  Happy with your energy suppliers?  If so throw this out right now!

Shared Services has developed a new program with a world leader in energy.  This agreement, #17, is with Constellation Energy Projects and Services Group (CEPS) and includes natural gas supply with Constellation New Energy Gas Division (CNEG).

Energy costs have gone “through the roof”.  Oil is at an all time high.  Natural gas and electricity take a larger and larger chunk of your budget each year.  Take a look at your fuel bills!  What “else” can you do about it?  Well conservation is something we continue to work on, cost effect retrofits are helpful, but the big saver comes from being IN THE GAME.  To be in the game, you must know the players and how the industry operates and its complicated, by design.  Your staff could be the sharpest, but if they’re responsible for lots of “other stuff” they’re stretched and don’t have sufficient time to monitor energy pricing and usage properly.  CNEG can work with these professionals to secure your energy at the right  price.

CNEG can offer a variety of programs including fixed-price and index-based programs.  They serve over 3500 customers in large markets and are experts in regional markets, financial hedging products and can mitigate negative impacts of dramatic market fluctuations.  National Capital Area Shared Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Healthcare Council of the National Capital Area, has been group contracting energy products for almost 40 years saving area hospitals, long term care facilities, universities, schools and others tens of millions of dollars.

Contact Constellation Energy today.  Be sure to mention Shared Services and the Healthcare Council.  The heating season has begun!
